New Commissioning Project for Band Students

Playing music together is an important social and creative part of life for our band students. The isolation created by the Covid-19 outbreak has suspended this activity and has severed personal interactions that are so vital to their well-being.

Eventually--at some point -- our students will return to their schools and our bands will once again play live concerts in front of live audiences. However long that takes and however many are infected, everyone has already been impacted by this pandemic, some tragically. Let's give our students and audiences a musical way to cope with the uncertainty, fear, disruption, pain and grief this has caused all of us.

This project will fund the commissioning of a new work for wind ensemble (grade 4) AND an easier concert band  version (grade 2-2.5) by Joseph Hasper. There is no minimum donation level: ALL donors will each receive a full score and set of parts as PDF files (for both versions) as well as listing as a commissioning participant. Donors of $50 or more will also receive printed copies of the music and 2 bound scores.

You can participate at GoFundMe (click here).

The finished music will be available by September 1, 2020. The projected length of the piece is 5' -8' for the grade 4 version, and 2' - 3' for the grade 2 version.

The title of this piece will be selected from YOUR suggestions, with appropriate credit given in the program notes.
